Highway Care add two new standards to portfolio

Date: 18/11/2011

In addition to ISO 9001:2008 Highway Care Ltd is pleased to announce that we have recently gained certification for both ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007.

Highway Care is committed to minimising the impact of it’s operations on the environment and prevention of pollution by means of a programme of continuous improvement.  To this end we have implemented environmental management systems which we are proud to announce have now been assessed and certified as meeting the requirements of ISO 14001:2004. This is the international standard for environmental management systems and is respected and recognised worldwide.

The standard requires an organisation to assess the operations impact on the environment, understand how those impacts can be managed and set clear objectives and targets to continually improve on environmental performance as well as having clearly defined processes and procedures to manage personnel and the activities that the organisation undertakes.

OHSAS 18001 is an international standard for Occupational Health and Safety management.  It provides a framework for organisations to control its OH&S aspects, ensure legal compliance and to continually improve performance.

Highway Care has always been dedicated to the highest standards of health and safety in the workplace and to doing all that is reasonably practicable to prevent personal injury and damage to property and to protect everyone from foreseeable work hazards within their control.  We believe that gaining certification to this standard demonstrates our commitment in this area and our desire for continuous improvement.
