Motorway and Trunk Road Weed Control

With over twenty years experience covering the entire spectrum of industrial and amenity weed control, Highway Care is fully aware of the factors governing the highly specialised task of herbicide and growth retarder application on motorways and trunk roads.

To ensure that treatment is carried out safely and efficiently with minimum disruption and to the complete satisfaction of the client, there are a number of key considerations. Principal amongst these is the use of high quality equipment and materials by experienced and fully trained personnel. Over the years Highway Care has invested in a comprehensive range of purpose built equipment and heavy emphasis is placed on its correct operation by a well trained, experienced and highly safety conscious and motivated workforce.

The hazards of inexperienced or improperly supervised and inadequately equipped operatives involved in specialised tasks such as weed control on a busy motorway are all too obvious. At worst, incidents can happen resulting in injuries or fatalities, at best, costly delays with unacceptable and prolonged disruption to traffic can occur. Poor herbicide management leads to improper application and unnecessary environmental encroachment. Inevitably these factors result in substandard control of perennial weed species and an unsatisfactory completion of the task.

Drawing on over two decades of experience treating virtually every motorway in England, Highway Care has evolved a fast, efficient and totally effective weed control service. High capacity spray vehicles eliminate costly refill stops. Multi vehicle systems applying different treatments simultaneously cut out the need to repeat-spray or backtrack. Specially designed spray equipment and careful monitoring ensures proper application of accurate herbicide treatment onto target areas.
