The SAB Gate is a modular ‘gate’ system for opening up the central reserve barrier on a dual-carriageway or motorway, to enable emergency vehicles to cross over, or traffic to be diverted in case of accidents or similar occurrences. Several units can be joined together to suit various opening widths. They are double-hinged, constructed from thrie beam with a lower rectangular rail all attached to a sturdy diaphragm framework.
Each unit has wheels which when deployed, allows individual sections or the complete ‘gate’ to be opened.
The SAB Gate has been tested to EN1317-2 and has passed the following tests:-
TB11 - (900kg Car, 100km/h, 20°).
TB51 - (13,000kg Bus, 70km/h, 20°), (Bus sustained minor damage and was still driveable!).
Containment Level - N2 & H2.
Working Width W6.
SAB gate section is 4340mm long x 500mm wide x 1100mm high.
Minimum overall size of SAB system is10.68m (2x 4.34m units + 2x1m transitions).
Maximum overall size of SAB system is 88.80m.
Minimum transition length is 1 metre.
Maximum transition length is 4 metre.
